What is the City of St. Louis Sustainability & Climate Plan? The Sustainability & Climate Plan will provide a strategic framework and vision for sustainability in St. Louis City, balancing the environmental, economic, public health and social needs of the city today and in the future. This plan will establish key strategies to address and adapt to the changing climate and restore the natural environment while addressing equally pressing economic and social needs of residents. This process will include working closely with the community and interested parties to ensure that this Plan is grounded in community-lived experience and will build resilience across sectors and scales.

What will be covered in the Sustainability and Climate Plan? The Sustainability and Climate Plan (SCP) is an update of the 2013 Sustainability Plan and 2018 Climate Action and Adaptation Plan. What is the community engagement for the plan? The SCP will have multiple opportunities for engagement and community input. The following are some of the key ways that community members will be involved: Community Advisory Group The City of St. Louis has established a Community Advisory Group to ensure that community perspectives, ideas, and insights are embedded into the Sustainability and Climate Plan. The group of 21, chosen via an open application process, represents the different Wards of the City and the diversity of the community. These lived experiences and ideas will help us build on our strengths while serving people of all ages, cultures, and walks of life. Community Listening Sessions A series of community listening sessions will be held in early 2025 to engage with a range of diverse community members, focusing on those who typically have not been engaged in City planning processes. Community Online Activity Several online activities will be provided at two times in the process to get community input on plan strategies and the final plan. Community involvement with other city activities There are already a number of planning efforts and community activities associated with the Strategic Land Use Plan and Transportation and Mobility Plan that the SCP effort will leverage.
